Job summary

Seneca Resources seeks a Senior API Developer to drive API development and cloud integration within a banking environment. You will work with Oracle Core Banking, OCI, and Oracle Integration Cloud to design and maintain REST APIs and enterprise integrations.

The role covers API security (mTLS), DevOps automation, and cross-team collaboration across Azure, OCI, and on‑premises systems. Temenos Core Banking and major core banking platforms are considered for strong API experience.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Administration & Infrastructure: Configure and support OCI and Oracle Core Banking services; Azure administration (SSO, identity, access control); manage cloud networking; assist with security and troubleshooting.
• API Development & Integration: Design, develop, test, and maintain REST APIs and enterprise integrations; manage integrations with OIC; maintain API testing with Postman collections; integrate MuleSoft and Oracle APIs.
• DevOps & Automation: Build/maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines; automate API testing with Postman and Newman; automate deployments with Azure DevOps and PowerShell; support cross-cloud automation.
• Data, Monitoring & Observability: Work with OCI GoldenGate and Azure Data Lake for data integration; monitor with Oracle Cloud monitoring tools and Dynatrace; troubleshoot cross-system issues.
• Disaster Recovery & Production Support: Support DR/BC across Azure, OCI, and on-premises; incident resolution and root-cause analysis; ensure availability and security.
• Engineering & Collaboration: Develop with Java, Python, Kafka, PowerShell; participate in Agile; collaborate with application, infra, security, architecture, and business teams.

Position Title: Senior API Developer
Location: Virginia, VA – On-Site
Pay Rate: $65/hr on W2
Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior API Developer with strong experience in API development, enterprise integration, cloud platforms, and core banking environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Oracle Core Banking, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).

Candidates with Temenos Core Banking experience are also highly relevant. Experience with other major core banking platforms such as FIS, Fiserv, or similar platforms may be considered when combined with strong API development and enterprise integration experience.

The successful candidate will work across cloud, API, integration, DevOps, security, and distributed enterprise systems within a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Administration & Infrastructure

• Configure and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Core Banking services.
• Perform Azure administration, including users, groups, SSO, identity, and access control.
• Support Azure and OCI networking and enterprise cloud integrations.
• Assist with cloud-based infrastructure configuration, security, and troubleshooting.

API Development & Integration

• Design, develop, test, and maintain REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Develop and manage integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
• Develop and maintain API integrations with Oracle Core Banking and other enterprise platforms.
• Create and maintain Postman collections for API testing and validation.
• Integrate MuleSoft, Oracle APIs, and other enterprise systems using secure integration patterns.
• Implement and support API security mechanisms, including mTLS.

DevOps & Automation

• Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for API development and testing.
• Automate API testing using Postman and Newman CLI.
• Automate configuration and application deployments using Azure DevOps and PowerShell.
• Support infrastructure and deployment automation across Azure, OCI, and on-premises environments.

Data, Monitoring & Observability

• Work with OCI GoldenGate and Azure Data Lake for enterprise data integration and data solutions.
• Implement monitoring, metrics, logging, and alerting using Oracle Cloud monitoring tools and Dynatrace.
• Troubleshoot API, integration, cloud, and distributed-system issues.

Disaster Recovery & Production Support

• Support disaster recovery and business continuity solutions across Azure, OCI, and on-premises environments.
• Participate in production support, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and system troubleshooting.
• Ensure applications and integrations meet enterprise availability, security, and reliability requirements.

Engineering & Collaboration

• Develop solutions using Java, Python, Kafka, and PowerShell as applicable.
• Participate in Agile development, sprint planning, technical discussions, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, security, architecture, and business teams.

• Experience implementing mTLS and other API security mechanisms.

• Azure or Oracle Cloud certifications.

Core Banking Experience

The project currently has a strong preference for Oracle Core Banking experience. However, candidates with Temenos Core Banking experience should also be considered.

Candidates with FIS, Fiserv, or other comparable core banking platforms may also be considered when they demonstrate strong, hands‑on experience in:

• API design and development
• REST API integration
• Enterprise application integration

• Core banking business processes and domains
• Cloud and DevOps environments

Oracle Core Banking candidates should be prioritized where available, while qualified Temenos and other core banking candidates should remain within consideration.
