The Epic Senior Analytics Developer serves as a reporting resource for the Epic Cogito application and is responsible for building and managing reporting across the enterprise in all Epic Cogito tools. This individual analyzes, provides specifications for, and writes reports for assigned applications to support the needs of the Epic project team, leadership, and other end users/ stakeholders. Strong Reporting Workbench, Radar dashboard, SlicerDicer and SQL skills are required.

The Epic Senior Analytics Developer serves as a reporting resource for the Epic Cogito application and is responsible for building and managing reporting across the enterprise. This individual analyzes, provides specifications for, and writes reports for assigned applications to support the needs of the Epic project team, leadership, and other end users/ stakeholders.

This role has responsibility for reporting system support and maintenance, analysis, design, and change control of all components used to build and manage assigned reports, metrics, queries, extracts, dashboards, and other reporting tools.

Responsible for validating existing foundation system reports and identifying and producing custom reporting content, optimization, and performance enhancement opportunities.

Minimum Work Experience 6 years

Requires deep functional knowledge with 6 years of related experience in the creation and maintenance of reports and visualizations. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Experience with relational database concepts, querying and analyzing EMR data using SQL for data extraction, manipulation and reporting.
  • Expertise in OLAP, Oracle, SQL Server, T-SQL, PLSQL, XML, HTML
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, MicroSoft Power BI.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Expertise in analyzing complex technical and functional issues, troubleshooting, identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, deliver clear and concise documentation, and engage diverse stakeholders in meaningful discussions.
  • Project Coordination & Time Management – Skilled in managing competing priorities and overseeing multiple projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality results on time while maintaining the ability to handle larger, more complex initiatives.
  • Healthcare & Revenue Cycle Knowledge – Advanced understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and revenue cycle management, with a proven ability to align Epic system functionality to meet organizational needs and objectives.

Required Licenses and Certifications

Epic Certification Requirement: This position requires that the appropriate Epic certification be successfully obtained and maintained for the assigned area of responsibility within 6 weeks of completing training, or obtained prior to hire or demonstrated through work experience 60 Days, (Required)

Functional Accountabilities

Develop BI solutions architecture that accurately translates business requirements to technology solutions and ensures the design will meet business requirements throughout the lifecycle of a change.

Collaborates with stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and IT professionals, to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable reports within the Epic EHR system.

Develop, customize, and maintain Epic reports using tools such as Clarity, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, and other reporting modules to extract and analyze data for assigned applications within Epic Foundation system.

Design and create visually appealing and easy-to-understand reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that effectively communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and metrics.

Performs and overseas data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies in data extraction, transformation, or report generation processes.

Collaborate with the Epic team and other stakeholders to optimize and streamline reporting workflows and processes.

Stay up to date with the latest Epic reporting functionalities, features, and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Provides timely and appropriate communication to business owners, stakeholders, and users on issue status and resolution

Responsible for providing training and support to end-users, ensuring they can effectively utilize and interpret the reports generated.

Document report specifications, data sources, and methodologies to maintain an organized and accessible repository of reporting assets.

Coordinates and maintains an organized report and standard definitions library for easy access and reference for stakeholders

Help lead the execution of long-term strategic goals for Epic report development in conjunction with end user, management, customers, and other stakeholders.

Collaborates with both Enterprise Architecture and Solutions Architecture on the solutions/service design to ensure it conforms to enterprise architectural standards for future roadmaps.

Performs other duties as assigned.

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children’s National believes an individual’s base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range.

The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children’s National compensation philosophy.

These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual’s combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications.
