Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leading packaging company, is seeking a Financial Analyst for its Dublin, GA mill. The role sits on-site five days a week and supports mill and corporate finance activities with a focus on accurate reporting and timely analysis.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and at least two years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment, plus strong Excel and MS Office skills. JD Edwards/Hyperion experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of finance experience.
• Proficient in Excel, reconciliation and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly financial closing activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform monthly cost and variance analysis.
• Support and review the accounts payable process.
• Complete assigned mill and corporate financial reporting needs.
• Support the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process.
• Provide support for monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
• Support activities related to internal and external audit requirements.
• Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting and project support as needed.

The Opportunity

The Dublin, GA mill is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the mill’s Finance Team. This position provides business analysis for various financial and accounting activities in support of both the mill and corporate internal customers. The individual in this role must be comfortable in a manufacturing/process environment, exhibit effective communication skills, be a self-starter and able to work independently. This is a position that will sit on-site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

What you need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration.
• Familiar/comfortable in a manufacturing environment
• Experienced with financial analysis and reconciliation processes.
• A minimum of 2+ years of finance experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with desire and ability to work in a team/collaborative environment.
• Must be proficient in Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products.
• Good organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Experience in JD Edwards and Hyperion a plus.
