Job summary

Bunge seeks a Financial Reporting specialist to act as a global subject matter expert for consolidated financial statements and SEC filings. The role supports Workiva administration, internal controls, and coordination with internal and external auditors.

The position involves leading close processes, footnote disclosures, MD&A preparation, and collaboration with Investor Relations, Treasury, and Legal. Strong US GAAP/SOX knowledge and Big 4 experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• Five years’ experience in a Big 4 and/or similar function in an international environment.
• External Reporting (US GAAP) experience with SEC filings; strong US GAAP and SOX knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end and quarter-end close processes with regional teams.
• Prepare BG’s consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures for SEC forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Draft MD&A commentary using inputs from operating businesses and FP&A.

A Day In The Life:

This position acts as a global subject matter expert and plays a key role in the preparation of the Bunge Global SA’s (BG’s) consolidated financial statements, forming part of BG’s quarterly SEC forms 10-Q and annual form 10-K, as well as any related external filings. The position also acts as a super user/system admin for BG’s external reporting/SEC filing application, Workiva, assisting in troubleshooting and application questions, while monitoring user security and other internal controls. Additionally, this position supports key internal control reporting tasks, including supporting the design, documentation, and execution of internal controls, as well as works closely with external auditors during quarterly reviews, and supports other corporate functions (Investor Relations, Treasury, Legal) regarding external reporting requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Coordinate components of the quarter-end and monthly closing process, including quality reviews of regional financial statement submissions (OneStream financial reporting packages and related disclosures, financial statement variance analyses, as well as information provided by other global corporate functions).
• Prepare and support the preparation of BG’s consolidated financial statements, and related footnote disclosures for inclusion in BG’s SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K, as well as any other required filings.
• Draft and support BG’s MD&A commentary preparation, using information and analyses submitted by BG’s operating businesses and FP&A.
• Partner with Legal, Investor Relations, Treasury and other global corporate functions with the preparation and filing of required periodic SEC filings.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of group closing activities: Develop a standard, formalized set of close tasks, identify best practices across BG and deploy them throughout the group.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statement variance analyses to Controlling management.
• Tag required externally reported information in accordance with iXBRL filing requirements.
• Serve as a key user as BG’s SEC filing system (Workiva): Act as super user/system admins to maintain the accuracy and integrity of reporting information, test and deploy upgrades and manage system access.
• Assist BG’s Management Reporting and Information team to enhance BG’s global consolidation system (OneStream), by identifying and assisting with various enhancements to improve data collection for required US GAAP and SEC disclosures as well as training and educating new users when applicable.
• Collaborate with Regional Controllers to perform drill-down analyses to identify reporting inconsistencies and make timely corrections.
• Assist with the adoption of new accounting standard implementations when applicable.
• Support BG’s financial reporting training program by developing and delivering periodic training events to key regional staff.
• Liaise with external auditors to timely address and resolve all audit issues related to our responsible areas.
• SOX & Policies (50%)
• Work with global SOX Coordinators to maintain best in class SOX documentation for financial close related controls.
• Assist with maintaining and updating SOX documentation for financial close and reporting-related processes, including narratives, flowcharts, risk and control matrices, and supporting documentation.
• Work with internal and external Audit to evaluate the action plan results of inadequate controls, as well as monitor those to ensure that propose remediation are implemented on time, with quality and mitigate the risk identified.
• Assist with various global tasks, procedures, and projects to maintain overall effective global internal control processes.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting/Finance. Qualified accountant (CPA, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Five years’ experience in a Big 4 and/or similar function in an international environment.
• External Reporting (Financial Statement Compilation and SEC filing under US GAAP) experience.
• Good knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, SEC requirements.
• Strong desire to learn the business - Previous exposure to industry and trading businesses is a plus.
