Job summary

Cotiviti is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design and develop software applications and reusable components within the Cotiviti product suite.

You will collaborate with senior developers, offshore teammates, business owners, and project management to deliver high quality software. The role centers on an AI‑first software development lifecycle, using Claude Code or ChatGPT, to create agents, hooks, and workflows that automate code, tests, and PRs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science or technically related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• AI-first approach to software development lifecycle using Claude Code or ChatGPT.
• Experience creating agents, skills, hooks, and MCP to enable and accelerate software development.
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering, context engineering, and harness engineering concepts.
• Minimum 5 years of frontend web development experience using React.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with common application frameworks (JEE - Spring Boot, Struts, Hibernate).
• Minimum 5 years of experience with RDBMS such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL programming; MS SQL Server preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Java, Python, or C#, and scripting languages such as JavaScript.
• Strong proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift or similar container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud development and microservices.
• Understanding of prevalent Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, with exposure to Agile Scrum techniques preferred.
• Ability to execute project deliverables in a dynamic, fast paced environment within estimated timelines.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Communicate technical and operational issues to both engineering and business leadership in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems.
• Explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results.
• Continuously improve and enhance knowledge of new technologies as selected and integrated into the Cotiviti product suite.
• Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement.
• Mentor other developers.
• Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
• Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
