This role focuses on transforming early concepts and emerging technologies into robust, feasible mechanical solutions through advanced analysis, prototyping, and testing.This position operates upstream of the traditional product development process with an emphasis on technical innovation and risk reduction. The Sr. Advanced Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design strategy using first-principles analysis, math models, and simulations, while also building prototypes and validate designs through testing to achieve product-ready solutions. The Advanced Engineering team is highly collaborative, deeply hands-on, and driven by curiosity and learning as we develop new and innovative outdoor products.**P****rimary Responsibilities:** Define system requirements, user operation methods, and design trade-offs**Qualifications:**5+ years of experience in product advanced engineering, concept maturation, or innovation in consumer products, automotive, or adjacent industriesStrong proficiency with 3D CAD (Solidworks, NX, etc.) and rapid prototyping mechanical design fundamentals with experience in mechanisms, Experience building prototypes, developing test plans, and defining acceptance criteriaAbility to couple first-principles analysis with advanced tools such as FEA, CFD, and AI/ML to guide mechanical design Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneouslyExperience with measurement equipment for vibration & sound is a plusCollaborative contributors – bring outside experience and interests to brainstorming sessions- Experience with Rapid Prototyping (varying materials and processes)- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems (ex. motors, microcontrollers, batteries)
