Correctly identifies patient and maintains accurate patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Collects applicable financial information including payment for the patient/guarantor. Obtain insurance information, benefits, and authorizations for services provided. Calculates insurance co-pay, deductible and co-insurance. Obtains medical and financial consents, secures proper signatures on required documents. Provides required information to patient concerning the Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives. Schedules all outpatient procedures in a timely and accurate manner, based on policy and protocol.

Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency. College business and/or accounting courses preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration required.
• Require working knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and strong customer service experience with demonstrated service excellence.
• Require the ability to prioritize and perform work in an organized, efficient and effective manner without constant supervision or direction.
• Must be able to handle detail work and work accurately and rapidly.
• Experience in basic computer, internet, data entry collections and medical terminology preferred.
• Must be able to calculate, accept variety of types of payment and process daily batches with accurate cash reconciliation.
