Job summary

nVent is seeking a Finance Operations professional to own plant financial operations, project accounting, and GL management at the Fulton, MO or Oshkosh, WI site. The role partners with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting under US GAAP and drive process improvements.

The position supports both operational and project-based activities, including month-end close, revenue recognition, and financial analysis. Requires 5+ years in relevant finance roles and strong Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years in operational finance, FP&A or corporate finance; project accounting preferred.
• Working knowledge of plant standard costing, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, US GAAP and SOX.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience; exposure to OneStream/Tableau is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills; able to translate data into insights.
• Travel up to 10–15% annually and support month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities including revenue recognition and journal entries.
• Manage project accounting, invoicing, and billing compliance.
• Coordinate with AR and PM to ensure timely billings and collections.
• Analyze financial and operational performance through regular reports.
• Ensure internal controls and audits compliance; support SOX requirements.
• Partner with Project Management, Engineering and plant leadership to drive cost and cash improvements.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and business support.

This role combines responsibilities for plant financial operations, project accounting, and general ledger management. The individual will act as a business partner to cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with US GAAP, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes. The position supports both operational and project-based activities, including month-end close, revenue recognition, and financial analysis.

**This role can reside at our Fulton, MO or Oshkosh, WI location and will work 4 days in office/1 day remote**

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Lead month-end close activities, including revenue recognition, percentage-of-completion analysis, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger verification.
• Manage project accounting activities, including customer invoicing, billing compliance, and resolution of complex invoicing and payment issues.
• Direct liaison with Accounts Receivables and Project management to facilitate timely billings and cash collections.
• Analyze financial and operational performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including labor, material, productivity, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; support internal, external, and customer audits as needed.
• Partner crossfunctionally with Project Management, Engineering, and plant leadership to drive cost, cash, and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and business support to enhance operational effectiveness and decision-making.

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in operational finance, FP&A, or corporate finance; project accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of plant standard costing, PercentofCompletion revenue recognition, U.S. GAAP, and SarbanesOxley requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JDE); exposure to OneStream, Tableau, or similar tools a plus.
• Strong analytical, problemsolving, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% annually and flexibility to support monthend close.
