Job summary

Amazon is seeking a financial accounting professional to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement prep, within the Global Transfer Pricing Close and Reporting team in Austin. The role focuses on accurate intercompany pricing, arm’s length compliance, and timely bookings across Amazon’s global entity structure.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports (10-Q, 8-K, 10-K) and other external filings as applicable.
  • End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners; Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
  • Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Technology, and Statutory Accounting teams to understand business initiatives and assess accounting implications.
  • Assess the effectiveness of controls in your area and participate in the design of new controls for emerging and growing business activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities; drive impactful global projects that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Proactively identify, research, and document technical accounting positions and memorandums on significant transactions.
  • Assess risks, evaluate internal control considerations, and elevate issues to leadership with appropriate context and recommendations.
  • Analyze complex processes and systems data to identify root causes and surface insights.

Key job responsibilities

About The Team

The Global Transfer Pricing Close and Reporting team is responsible for the worldwide accounting of Amazon's intercompany transfer pricing transactions ‑ ensuring charges are accurate, compliant with the arm's length principle, and booked on time across Amazon's global entity structure.

We are an agile, high‑ownership team that moves fast and takes pride in getting the details right. We partner closely with tax and finance teams across the business. If you're looking for a place to build deep technical expertise while working on problems that matter at a global scale, this is it.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
  • CPA
  • Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
