Senior Accountant
Our recruiting team is partnering with a well-established organization in the manufacturing/product industry to identify a Senior Accountantfor a key role supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and ongoing systems initiatives.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable working across multiple business lines and entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of general accounting, A/P and A/R operations, intercompany accounting, inventory and cost accounting, and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support day-to-dayA/P and A/R activities, including invoice processing, payment runs, collections, cash application, and account maintenance.
- Review and resolve vendor and customer account discrepancies while maintaining appropriate internal controls and approval processes.
- SupportERP system migration and implementation initiatives, including data cleanup, mapping, reconciliation, and process development.
- Utilize experience withMicrosoft Dynamics NAV/Navision and/or Business Centralto support system transition activities and improve accounting workflows.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based analyses, reconciliations, and reporting tools to support financial operations.
- Performintercompany reconciliations, including multi-entity transactions, balances, and elimination entries.
- Assist with accounting related to inventory transfers and intercompany activity.
- Supportmanufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, product costs, and related analysis.
- Work with operational and production teams to review costing information and maintain accurate financial data.
- Assist with physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and investigation of inventory variances.
- Participate inmonthly and year-end close, including account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and investigate unusual or aged items.
- Support external audits and tax-related requests by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting workpapers.
- Ensure accounting processes are performed in accordance withUS GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements.
- Help document and improve accounting procedures as systems and processes evolve.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within amanufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity environment.
- Strong understanding of general accounting, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience withintercompany accounting and inventory/cost accountingstrongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience withMicrosoft Dynamics NAV/Navision and/or Business Centralis highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with accounting, operations, and other internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
