Job summary

Dal-Tile is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage inventory financial records, ensure GAAP compliance, and support audits. The role emphasizes analytical rigor and accurate cost data for finished goods within a large manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will analyze financial information, reconcile accounts, and contribute to the month-end close, maintaining data integrity and supporting internal controls. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 4-6 years of experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of inventory costing.
• Knowledge of GAAP ( generally accepted accounting principles ) and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

Responsibilities

• Records necessary journal entries and transactions to maintain accurate inventory valuation.
• Maintains and reconciles the inventory subledger to the general ledger.
• Provide documentation and assistance during internal and external financial audits.
• Support month-end closing process and ensure deadlines are met.
• Compiles, analyzes, calculates cost data, and standard cost for finished goods.
• Records and reviews cost of goods sold transactions to ensure appropriate recognition.
• Reconciles and researches excessive variance issues and determining causes.
• Verifies that statistical and financial reports are accurate and in compliance.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Job Objective:

The Accountant / Senior Accountant is an established performer that is responsible for inventory financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves analyzing financial information, reconciling accounts, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
