Job summary

The role may handle large, high-premium accounts including Personal Risk and Private Client, working with carrier markets to tailor insurance solutions for affluent clients.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS preferred
  • 8+ years industry experience
  • Property & Casualty Broker's License required
  • CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Facilitate requests and needs of carriers on behalf of clients.
  • Coordinate with Claims on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Handle multi-line accounts with sophisticated coverages and retrospective rating plans.
  • Maintain follow-up diary to align information with requests.
  • Possibly supervise Coordinators, Account Managers and Account Executives.
  • Build and maintain Carrier/client relationships through regular contact.
  • Inform clients of industry trends and regulatory issues.
  • Develop marketing strategies for Personal Risk and Private Client accounts, including high-net-worth portfolios.
  • Market new and renewal business to carriers; evaluate coverage options.
  • Collaborate with producers and underwriters to address exposures of affluent clients.
  • Stay informed of market conditions to support client retention and growth

Summary:

The Senior Account Executive interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. This individual will prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as the renewals of assigned clients with little to no supervision from their Supervisor on difficult lines. This role requires the employee to take on the role of lead consultant and primary point of contact for clients. The Senior Account Executive may work on large, complex accounts with large premiums and multifaceted coverages. The role may also support the marketing and placement of complex Personal Risk and Private Client accounts, partnering with carrier markets to develop tailored insurance solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Sr. level facilitates requests and needs of the carriers on behalf of NFP's clients.
  • Works with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Requires expertise in multi-line accounts with more sophisticated coverages including retrospective rating plans for large lines of coverages and foreign packages.
  • Maintains a diary (follow-up system) to ensure policies, endorsements and other information is received to align with requests
  • May supervise and advise the daily job activities of the Coordinators, Account Managers and Account Executives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, and clients through regular contact and client visits.
  • Keep clients apprised of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for sophisticated Personal Risk and Private Client accounts, including high-net-worth portfolios, luxury residences, collections, excess liability, and specialty coverages.
  • Market new and renewal business to carrier partners, evaluating coverage alternatives and placement options to secure competitive and customized solutions for clients.
  • Collaborate with producers, account teams, and carrier underwriters to design risk management and insurance solutions that address the outstanding exposures of affluent individuals and families.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Private Client carrier partners and stay informed of market conditions, underwriting appetite, and emerging coverage solutions to support client retention and growth.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions
  • Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports
  • Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills

Education and/or Experience:
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Typically more than 8 years industry and product line experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • Property & Casualty Broker's License required
  • CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $56,000 to $132,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
