Job summary

A national IT consulting firm is seeking an experienced SQL Developer to provide analytical and problem-solving skills, mentor junior developers, and conduct SQL code walkthroughs. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of IT development experience in RDBMS and strong experience in SQL development for OLTP applications. Additional experience in healthcare data projects is desirable. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity within a collaborative environment.

Job Description:

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Provide senior level analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues, assess system impacts and recommend technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers and consultants to ensure all company standards and procedures are met.
• Conduct SQL code walk-thru of database solutions to ensure adherence to the business requirements, scalable design and quality standards.
• Utilize technical skills to design, develop and test technical solutions to business.

Qualified Candidates will have:

• AS or BS in Computer Science or related discipline. Bachelor’s is highly preferred.
• 3 or more years IT Development experience in RDBMS (Sybase, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Mysql)
• Strong hands on experience in SQL Development for OLTP applications
• Experience with database consolidation and integration projects, specifically focused on healthcare data desired.
• Solid experience in data analysis, data modeling and performance tuning.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate across multiple groups & drive projects to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and authoring skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills that enable cross-functional partnerships.
• Experience in the Health Care industry is a plus.
