Infosys is actively seeking an Infrastructure Consultant 2 to join our Cloud-focused IT infrastructure team. The role centers on SQL Server management, clustering, Always On, and capacity planning, with 24/7 PST-shift coverage.

You will collaborate across onsite and offshore teams, implement optimized database solutions, and contribute to secure, scalable infrastructure deployments. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL Server expertise, PowerShell scripting, and experience with SSIS/SSRS/SSAS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent; may consider 3 years of progressive experience in lieu of every year of education.
• U.S. work authorization; relocation/travel may be required.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and clustering, Always On, and capacity planning.

Responsabilités

• Install and configure SQL Server, including clustering and Always On.
• Troubleshoot clustering environments, tune performance, and manage backups/restores.
• Plan capacity and monitor databases to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and review documentation for deployed database systems and upgrades.
• Coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and vendors for deployments and migrations.
• Create automation and reusable components to improve IT infrastructure processes.

In the assigned Job Role of Infrastructure Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and document findings with preventive recommendations
• Participate in evaluation of client IT infrastructure, prepare actionable assessment reports, and support due diligence to document infrastructure maturity and improvement opportunities
• Contribute to the design of scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions, review reusable components, and develop technical documentation for deployed systems
• Align release schedules and environment readiness, execute deployments as per protocols, perform post-deployment testing, and manage version control to track changes
• Co-ordinate maintenance schedules, emergency fixes, and technology upgrades while ensuring uninterrupted integration into existing systems and processes
• Facilitate performance data analysis across systems, coordinate insights on system behavior, and support capacity planning to optimize performance
• Conduct security checks, recovery drills, and compliance audits, implement security measures, and coordinate continuity plans to maintain adherence to standards
• Gather feedback to identify automation opportunities, analyze existing infrastructure processes, and propose enhancements for efficiency gains
• Act as liaison with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams to document project requirements, ensuring effective collaboration
• Develop a centralized repository of technical and procedural knowledge, leveraging insights from other projects to drive efficiency and retain organizational expertise

Required Skill And Experience

• Candidate must be available to work exclusively for PST time zone and be prepared to operate on rotating shift schedules to ensure 24/7/365 support coverage which includes weekends and holidays.

Shift Timings

Shift 1: 3 AM to 12 PM PST

Shift 2: 11 AM to 8 PM PST

Shift 3: 7 PM to 4 AM PST

• Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Server Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
• Perform capacity planning based on database growth patterns.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server clustering environments; monitor and maintain database systems, address issues, and perform performance tuning.
• Perform database upgrades to different SQL Server versions and handle database migrations.
• Use tools such as SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, and Execution Plans for database tuning and index recommendations; generate traces and execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks, and contention, and resolve them.
• Develop and implement solutions for database backup, restoration, and replication.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

Preferred Skill And Experience

Experience with tools like SolarWinds DPA, Delphix. and Backup and restore tools like EMC Networker, Commvault

PowerShell programming

Planning and Co-ordination skills

Experience of Mergers and Acquisitions will be an added advantage

Good Communication and Analytical skills

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
