Qualifications

Job Title: SQL Automation Engineer

Job Description Design, build, and maintain automation for patching production SQL Server Always On Availability Group clusters without unplanned service loss. Automate availability group discovery based on the live estate state. Automate pre-patch procedures, including replica role changes and service stops. Orchestrate patch wave order, failover, and failback to ensure continuous availability. Automate suppression and restoration of monitoring alerts during patch cycles. Integrate patching automation with scheduled jobs and existing maintenance workflows. Provide verification and rollback steps at each automation stage for safety and reusability. Critical Information No remote work; on-site in Dallas, TX. Standard shift, with planned maintenance windows and adherence to change management practices. Partner with teams for window planning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance processes. Education/Licenses Needed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation, ITIL Foundations preferred.
