Staffmark Group in Hagerstown, MD is hiring a Sprinkler Service Technician for a direct-hire role. You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems to ensure safety and reliability on customer sites.

This role requires a strong understanding of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25, 3+ years' hands-on sprinkler experience, and NICET or related certifications are highly desirable. A valid driver’s license is required, and the pay range is $25.00-$40.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and repair wet, dry, and deluge fire sprinkler systems.

  • Repair or replace sprinkler heads, valves, and piping components.
  • Complete inspection and deficiency reports and communicate findings to customers.
  • Maintain company vehicle and equipment; deliver reliable field service.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while supporting life-safety systems.

Location: Hagerstown, MD


Pay Rate: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Education Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of vocational, technical, or trade training in Fire Protection Systems, Sprinkler Technology, Mechanical Systems, or a related field preferred.

  • NICET Certification (Level I, II, III, or higher) and Backflow Certification are highly desirable.


Experience Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair.

  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, fire protection standards, and local fire codes.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fire sprinkler system drawings.

  • Proven troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

  • Preferred: 5+ years of fire sprinkler service experience, including fire pumps, special hazard systems, and multiple sprinkler system types.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.


Physical Capabilities


  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver 50+ pounds safely.

  • Comfortable working on ladders, aerial lifts, rooftops, and in confined or varying environmental conditions.

  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, climbing, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call emergency service rotation as needed.


Job Duties


  • Perform inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems.

  • Diagnose system deficiencies, identify code compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Repair or replace sprinkler heads, valves, piping components, and related fire protection equipment.

  • Complete accurate inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency reports.

  • Communicate inspection findings and service recommendations to customers in a professional manner.

  • Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local regulations, and company safety procedures.

  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to support efficient field operations.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting life safety and fire protection system reliability.
