Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Sprinkler Service Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler, clean agent, and special hazard systems in commercial and industrial settings.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, educating customers on system operation, managing scheduling and documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety codes. This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of Fire Sprinkler Inspector experience preferred.
• NICET Certification preferred.
• VA Backflow DPOR required or ability to obtain within 30–60 days of hire.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and safety practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Summary:

Sprinkler Service Inspectorsare responsible forconducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Fire Sprinkler, Clean Agent and Special Hazard Fire Protection Systems.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $28.00 - $38.00 / Hourly. The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position at the time of posting and is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual starting pay will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location (where applicable), and market considerations. Not all candidates will be hired at the top of the posted range. The posted range reflects base salary only and does not include any applicable bonuses, commissions, overtime, or the value of employee benefits. Eligible employees may participate in the Company's benefit programs, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of each plan.

Sign-On Bonus:

Qualified technicians will receive a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus paid in two installments: the first payment after successfully completing 30 days of employment, and the second payment after completing 90 days. This bonus rewards your commitment and excellent performance during your initial months with our company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine service and maintenance tasks on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and foam systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. This includes inspecting, testing, cleaning components, and verifying system functionality.
• Identify and diagnose issues with fire suppression systems.
• Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
• Manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally. Educate customers on fire suppression system functionality, best practices, and emergency response procedures.
• Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
• Making sure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices.
• Ensure proper maintenance and care of equipment – trucks, lifts, tools, etc.

What We Are Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 1-3 years years experience as Fire Sprinkler Inspector, preferred
• NICET IICertification, preferred
• VA Backflow DPOR, required or ability to obtain within 30-60 days of hire.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the Fire & Life Safetyindustry.
• Knowledge of NFPA code requirements
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights and in conned spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices
• Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.
