Job summary

Hall & Kay is seeking a Service Engineer to service, maintain, repair and replace sprinkler pipe work across multiple buildings in the Birmingham region. The role emphasizes PPM, small works, valve-set servicing, and fire-pump tests, with a standard 40-hour week from 8am to 5pm.

The ideal candidate has experience withWet, dry, alternate, deluge and pre-Action valve sets, plus plumbing knowledge and a full UK driving licence. DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing valve sets (wet/dry/alternate/deluge/pre-Action).
• Experience performing 5-point flow tests on sprinkler pumps and checks.
• Plumbing/piping knowledge and fault finding on sprinkler systems.
• Full UK driving licence for regional coverage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and small works across several buildings.
• Service all types of valve sets and conduct tests on fire pumps.
• Perform general service checks and inspections.
• Record results using electronic reporting where applicable.

Summary of Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintenance, repairs and replacements of sprinkler pipe work. This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in entering or returning to the sprinkler industry as a Service Engineer.

What you will be doing

• Responsible for PPM and small works projects across a few buildings
• Servicing all types of valve sets
• Carrying out 5 point flow tests on fire pumps
• Conducting general service checks

What we will need from you

• Experience in servicing all types of the following valve sets: Wet, dry, alternate, deluge and pre-Action (essential)
• Experience of carrying out 5-point flow tests on sprinkler fire pumps and general service checks (essential)
• Experience of Plumbing / Piping Knowledge & fault finding on sprinkler systems (essential)
• Must have a full UK driving license able to cover a regional role (essential)
• Sprinkler Installation Level 2 qualified (desirable)
• Previous experience gained within Commercial / Industrial buildings environment (desirable)
• Experience in small works install (desirable)
• Experience and understanding of electronic reporting (desirable)
