Job summary

Lake Forest High School is seeking a Spring Musical Costume Designer for the production of “Once Upon a Mattress.” You will collaborate with the creative team to shape the overall costume vision, plan elements with directors, and oversee the budget and fittings for the cast.

The role includes attending rehearsals and dress rehearsals, managing wardrobe storage, and ensuring costume safety and quality throughout performances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledgeable in sewing and makeup artistry for theater productions.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of theater including design, lighting, sound, costume, hair, and makeup techniques.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative team to develop the show's costume vision and mood.
• Plan costume elements with the director and tech director, including hair, jewelry, and wearable props.
• Oversee budget usage and ensure costumes meet production needs and safety standards.
• Attend rehearsals and dress rehearsals; manage emergencies during performances.
• Oversee measurements and sourcing of costumes, and arrange storage and upkeep of wardrobe facilities.
