Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
• Operate machine shop equipment such as drill press, engine lathe, surface grinder and milling machine.
• Use micrometer and caliper accurately.
• Understand differences in types of springs and wires used in production.
• Know oven temperatures for stress relieving and effects on wire materials.
• Be on time, dependable and reliable.
• Stand and be in motion throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and sets up machines in proper working order.
• Maintains machines (mechanical and CNC) in proper working order.
• Repairs, remakes, or creates new tools as appropriate.
• Checks work to ensure quality.
• Reads Quality Control charts and adjusts machines to comply with policies.
• Detects problems while machine is operating.
• Completes complex set-ups and adjustments on a wide variety of machines.
• Uses comparator and other equipment to test parts for quality.
• Tests parts using SPC and makes/reads SPC charts.
• Checks loads and rate of springs and ensures parts meet tolerances.
• Trains lower-level employees in SPC usage.
• Lifts up to 45lbs.
