Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD in Chemistry or related field.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be enrolled in accredited college/university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
• Must be able to relocate to Cambridge, MA and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday for full duration.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and optimization of novel and efficient synthetic pathways for drug substances undergoing clinical development to demonstrate synthetic viability.
• Develop and optimize commercial process for selected drug substance routes (photochemistry, flow chemistry, biocatalysis, etc.).
• Plan and execute experimental plans to optimize reaction, purification and isolation units.
• Learn/apply green chemistry principles to develop sustainable manufacturing routes.
• Develop/apply analytical techniques for structural characterization (NMR and LCMS).
• Maintain electronic lab notebooks and provide detailed experimental procedures.
• Communicate and interact with staff in a professional and courteous manner.
• Operate in the lab safely according to HSE guidelines and compliance requirements.
