Job summary

Kroger Co. invites current college students to join its Summer Internship Program for a 15-week immersive experience in Human Resources. The program includes on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to senior leaders.

Spring 2027 dates run January 11 to April 23, with competitive pay and opportunities to work on diverse HR projects. Participants will recruit, screen, interview, and coordinate intern activities, while gaining hands-on experience in HR and business operations at the Store

Qualifications

• Open to all majors and actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university.
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Highly motivated with leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support recruiting by screening candidates, reviewing applications, and assisting with selection.
• Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews with recruiters, hiring managers, and teams.

• Plan and schedule intern events to create a positive intern experience.

The Kroger Summer Internship Program is a 15-week immersive experience that offers students an opportunity to grow their careers through a variety of focused internship assignments. Spring 2027 dates: January 11 - April 23.

Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Kroger Co (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status).

Responsibilities

Support various projects that involve different aspects of human resources, with a focus on recruiting, candidate screening, interview coordination, and the internship program. Apply concepts learned in the classroom to hands-on assignments while gaining exposure to different areas of Human Resources and lines of business within the Store Support Center.

• Support recruiting efforts by screening candidates, reviewing applications, and assisting with candidate selection processes
• Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews, including communicating with candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and interview teams
• Assist with candidate communication and follow-up throughout the recruiting and interview process
• Support the continued development and execution of the internship programs
• Develop, plan, and schedule intern events and programming that create a positive and engaging intern experience
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding activities for incoming interns
• Help brand and promote the internship program to attract qualified candidates and strengthen awareness of internship opportunities
• Travel to local events, meetings, career fairs, and other recruiting or intern activities as needed
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

• Open to all majors, must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0
• Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Kroger Co (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)
• Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work
• Highly motivated with strong leadership skills and the ability to work in groups or independently
• Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to preserve confidentiality of information
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to present information to various levels of the organization
• Responds to change as a positive challenge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Significant level of multi-tasking
