Qualifications

  • Current student in related bachelor's, master's, or PhD program or recently graduated.
  • Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours/week onsite in Needham, MA.
  • Strong understanding of Bipolar and CMOS technologies; foundational knowledge in power electronics is preferred.
  • Able to quickly develop visual/physical representations of product functions and electrical layouts.
  • Experience with electrical design tools such as LTSpice; familiarity with PCB design software like Altium is a plus.
  • Exposure to product-level testing including DC/AC performance, power consumption, BLDC motors, and EMC considerations is a bonus.
  • Prior internship or project experience in consumer electronics or small appliances is a strong asset.
  • Hands-on lab experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, SMUs); surface mount soldering skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365; Visual Basic programming is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of cutting-edge technologies powering SharkNinja products.
  • Support senior engineers in designing and testing analog and digital circuits, including power architectures.
  • Assist with board bring-up, debugging, and validation of real-time embedded electronics.
  • Develop microprocessor-based control/communication platforms via simulation and prototyping.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional problem-solving and conduct failure analysis for field issues.
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to design docs and test plans.
  • Work with Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, and Product Testing to align electrical solutions with goals.
  • Gain hands-on experience with real products in a fast-paced innovation environment.

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, Massachusetts. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

Compensation Range: Ranges from $30/hr - $36/hr. Specific compensation is set according to a standardized scale aligned with your educational level at the time of hire.

This role: Electrical Engineering Co-op

Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do
  • Contribute to the development of cutting‑edge technologies that will power the next generation of SharkNinja products
  • Support senior engineers in designing and testing analog and digital circuits—including low‑noise analog systems, microprocessors, A/D and D/A converters, and power supply architectures
  • Assist with board bring‑up, debugging, and validation of real‑time embedded electronics
  • Help develop and refine microprocessor‑based control and communication platforms through simulation, analysis, prototyping, and hands‑on lab testing
  • Collaborate on cross‑functional problem‑solving to support released products and conduct failure analysis for field‑reported issues
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to design documentation, test plans, and technical reports
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, and Product Testing teams to ensure electrical solutions align with product goals and user expectations
  • Gain hands‑on experience with real products, real challenges, and real impact in a fast‑paced innovation environment
Attributes & Skills
  • Education: Current student in a related bachelor's or master’s or PhD program or has graduated from such a program within the past year
  • Must be able to work a full‑time, 40‑hour‑per‑week schedule with 5 DAYS per week onsite in Needham, MA
  • Strong understanding of Bipolar and CMOS technologies; foundational knowledge in power electronics is preferred
