Job summary

BMW Manufacturing Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Assembly Planning Intern for Spring 2027 in Spartanburg, SC. This role offers hands-on exposure to automotive assembly planning, process improvement, and cross-functional project work with international teams.

You will assist assembly planners with chassis/powertrain planning tasks, gather data for weekly deliverables, and participate in design reviews of new processes and equipment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Basic CAD software knowledge is required.
• Digital database experience with Excel Macros, SharePoint, APEX is preferred.
• Demonstrated self-drive, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Assembly Technical Planning with data gathering and reporting.
• Assist with planning and coordination of assembly structure and equipment projects.
• Contribute to cross-functional project teams with international reach.
• Assist planners with chassis and powertrain assembly planning tasks.
• Prepare data for weekly team deliverables and reviews.
• Support special equipment and new vehicle projects as needed.
• Review and modify process descriptions for continuous improvement.
• Assist with risk filtering for assembly processes and equipment.
• Participate in design reviews of new processes and equipment.
