Job summary

KU Innovation Park is seeking student business analysts for the Spring 2025 semester, with potential to extend into the summer. You will join a small, professional management team to provide hands-on business development and consulting services to the Park and its bioscience and technology startups.

As an in-person role at the Park's main facility in Lawrence, you will research topics, draft memoranda, conduct market research, prepare business plans and investor materials, and assist with grant

Qualifications

  • Multidisciplinary background; candidates from diverse fields encouraged.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct thorough research, communicate findings clearly.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit; creative, persistent, autonomous in ambiguous projects.
  • Reliable; able to commit to 12–20 hours/week during school year and up to 40 hours in summer.
  • Excellent time management and communication; manage timelines and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Researching topics in depth and drafting memoranda and reports.
  • Assisting with document review and drafting (contracts, LOIs, partnership agreements).
  • Conducting industry and market research, competitive analysis, tech validation for startups.
  • Preparing and reviewing strategic planning documents: feasibility studies, business plans, pitch-decks, investor letters.
  • Basic financial and business modeling/analysis.
  • Identifying grant funding opportunities and assisting with grant applications.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to partners and Park management.
  • Participating in operational/strategic meetings and Park events.
  • Collaborating with other analysts on projects.
