Job summary

Sunrise Landscape is seeking a Fertilizer Spray Technician to apply fertilizer and chemical treatments across commercial properties throughout Florida. You will load, mix, and spray products, operate zero-turn machines, and uphold safety and client service standards in outdoor conditions.

The role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and the ability to read product labels and follow environmental guidelines while maintaining equipment and meeting client expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of professional spray or fertilization experience.
• Operation of hose and reel and zero-turn spray machine required.
• GI-BMP certification preferred but not required.
• Must be 18+ years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Dependable, team-oriented, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.
• Ability to read product labels and calibrate spreaders.

Job description

The Fertilizer Spray Technician provides fertilizer and spraying services for Sunrise Landscape’s commercial clients across private and public properties. This role follows specific application guidelines in accordance with product labels, environmental requirements, county and state restrictions, community and client requirements, and company policies.

The Fertilizer Spray Technician is responsible for the daily transport and application of granular fertilizer and chemical products while maintaining quality standards, client satisfaction, and safe work practices. A successful Fertilizer Spray Technician brings spray application experience, equipment knowledge, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in Florida’s outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

As one of our Fertilizer Spray Technicians, you will have the following areas of responsibility:

Fertilizer & Chemical Applications

• Perform fertilizer and chemical applications, including spreading fertilizer, mixing chemicals, and applying treatments
• Maintain client properties by diagnosing and treating insects, diseases, and weeds
• Follow all application guidelines in accordance with product labels, environmental requirements, and company policies
• Ensure all tasks are completed according to company quality standards and client expectations

Daily Route Preparation & Field Execution

• Prepare for assigned daily routes by loading tools, chemicals, and equipment
• Transport granular fertilizer products and supplies to and from client locations
• Perform assigned service duties efficiently and safely
• Prepare and clean job sites following product applications

Equipment & Vehicle Management

• Safely operate fertilization and spray equipment, including hose and reel systems and zero-turn spray machines
• Perform light maintenance on spray equipment and conduct regular equipment inspections
• Drive company vehicles, including truck and trailer, to and from assigned client locations
• Maintain truck, trailer, tools, and equipment in clean and operational condition

Safety, Teamwork & Client Service

• Always adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
• Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn properly, including helmets, fall protection, ear plugs, safety glasses, and gloves
• Communicate effectively with team members
• Deliver excellent customer service and represent Sunrise Landscape professionally on client properties

Qualifications & Core Competencies

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional spray or fertilization experience required
• Previous operation of a hose and reel and zero-turn spray machine required
• GI-BMP certification preferred but not required
• Ability to read application rates on product labels and perform basic math to calibrate fertilizer spreaders
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Dependable and able to work well as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and squat for prolonged periods throughout the day
• Ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds multiple times per day in hot temperatures
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, high humidity, and rain

Driver Qualifications

To qualify as a Driver, in addition to the above, you must:

• Possess a valid driver’s license issued in the United States for a minimum of three years
• Maintain a clean driving record for at least three years
• Successfully pass a drug screening
