Job Overview

Responsible for the successful prevention and/or treatment of pest and disease presence on commercial landscapes.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform fertilization, herbicide, and pest management treatments on turf using approved spray equipment.
2. Calculate product and carrier quantities.
3. Properly mix and apply plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment.
4. Handle and use all chemicals safely.
5. Complete required paperwork accurately.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of commercial pesticide operator experience.
• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed.
• Pesticide License issued by the state (preferred).
• Strong customer service and urgency sense.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Effective communication skills in English; bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in various formats.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

• Constant talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, and walking.
• Ability to see at various distances, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Frequent use of hands for manipulation and handling objects.
• Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb, and balance.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, seldom up to 75 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and noise.

Compensation and Benefits:

Base pay range: $20.00/hr - $27.00/hr, with additional benefits including healthcare, paid holidays, time off, 401(k), and more. Specific benefits may vary based on location and eligibility.
