Job summary

G-III Apparel Group is seeking an Associate Designer in New York to join the design team. You will assist in creating and developing a competitive fashion product line, balance commercial relevance with brand-right fashion, support design development, production processes, and factory communications to ensure timely delivery of seasonal collections aligned with brand goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional design experience.
• Experience in a high SKU count environment.
• Strong understanding of apparel styles, components, and construction.
• Knowledge of apparel development timelines and calendars.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and development: create sketches for development, complete design packages, research trims and fabrics, and prepare tech packs.
• Production and overseas communication: manage overseas sample requests, liaise with factories, prepare samples, and enter PLM data for BOMs.
