Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Oregon is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to develop student-athletes, teach fundamentals, and help run daily practices and tournaments.

The ideal candidate will have wrestling coaching experience, K-12 coaching background, and current First Aid certification, with the ability to collaborate with staff to uphold the district program philosophy and promote sportsmanship and safety.

Qualifications

• Wrestling coaching experience required.
• Experience coaching in a K-12 setting.
• Current First Aid Certification or ability to obtain it.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
• Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with District staff and the public.
• Ability to respect confidential information.
• Meet OSAA certification requirements.

Responsabilités

• Teach fundamentals wrestling skills and strategies.
• Run effective daily practices and training.
• Co-coach tournaments and events.
• Collaborate with other wrestling coaching staff to establish and implement program philosophy, skills, and techniques.
• Communicate respectfully with parents.
• Supervise bus trips and locker room during tournaments.
• Maintain sportsmanship and respect with opponents, staff, and community members.
• Keep an accurate record of equipment and uniform inventory.
• Support booster clubs and athletics departments.
• Follow district policies and procedures.
• Adhere to rules set by state association, district and league.
• Participate in mandatory district trainings to improve coaching performance and student health and safety.
• Attend athletic department meetings when required.

Job Description

Areas of Responsibility:

• Cooperates and communicatesrespectfully to parents.
• Supervise bus trips and locker room, as well as, behavior at tournaments.
• Maintain sportsmanship and respect to other teams, coaches, bus drivers, and community members.
• Coaches must keep an accurate record of equipment and uniforminventory.
• Cooperates in helping the booster club and other organizations that support the success of the athletics department.
• Follows district policies and procedures.
• Understands and follows rules and regulations set forth by all govering agencies: state association, school district and league.
• Participates in training and other activities deemed mandatory by the district to improve coaching performance and enhance student health and safety.
• Attends athletic department meetings, when required.

Qualifications Required:

• Wrestling c/oaching experience
• Experience coaching in K-12 setting
• Current First Aid Certification or the ability to get certified
• Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member
• Ability to plan, organize, and work wihtout close supervision
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with District personnel and the public
• Ability to respect confidential information
• Meet OSAA certification requirements
