Note: This internship is scheduled to run from June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026. Participants are expected to work full‑time hours and adhere to our on‑site work schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA or MA, students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by March 15.

What You’ll Do
  • Write, produce, and edit stories for both digital and print publications, initially with guidance from editors.
  • Work under tight deadlines to produce timely and accurate stories on breaking news and major events.
  • Cover live sports events such as MLB games, NBA and NHL practices, and press conferences.
  • Uncover fresh stories and pitch them for publication, ensuring our coverage stays ahead of the curve.
  • Collaborate with the sports video department to create daily content that complements our written articles.
  • Assist in executing and optimizing the New York Post’s social media strategy for sports coverage, keeping fans engaged and informed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience at a college newspaper or website, with a passion for sports writing.
  • Deep knowledge of all sports, especially New York teams, and a strong interest in the city’s sports culture.
  • A proven track record of strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the New York Post’s writing style and a willingness to adapt to our fast‑paced, dynamic newsroom.
  • A desire to work hard, learn quickly, and gain hands‑on experience in one of the most high‑energy environments in sports journalism.
