Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Licensure/Certification to practice medicine.
• Valid medical license to practice.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, including examinations, evaluations, diagnoses and treatment.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate.
• Refers patients to specialists and relevant care components as appropriate.
• Trains and supervises medical fellows and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures.
• Directs and coordinates patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety standards.
• Participates in health promotion, education and prevention programs.
