Job summary

Albright College seeks a part-time Sports Medicine Aide to support practice and game activities in Reading, PA. You will assist with field setup, water and ice management, and basic training room maintenance, while performing data entry tasks and restocking supplies as needed.

You will help ensure a clean, organized medical facility, assist with game preparations, and follow safety guidelines throughout your shift. This role offers hands-on experience in a medical athletic setting.

Responsibilities

• Open the facility and complete opening tasks within the first 15 minutes.
• Maintain whirlpools and cold tubs: Drain, fill, clean; ensure pumps are off.
• Move and prepare ice for injuries; instruct athletes on self-wrap and bags.
• Update 'To Be Filed' bin and injury files; keep records current.
• Restock taping areas, jars, and modality supplies; coordinate with AT staff.
• Regularly clean and sanitize the facility; wipe tables and counters and Rehab equipment.
• Bag and launder laundry; fold and store wrapped items.
• Restock team medical kits at season start and as needed.
• Be 10–15 minutes early for games; assist with duties; ensure equipment leaves for events and returns.
• Clean and reset tables and pillows; return articles to storage after use.
• Clean all modalities and replace worn parts; follow staff instructions for equipment use.
• Follow Blood Borne Pathogen policies; wear gloves and dispose properly of biohazards.
• Supervise and instruct athletes on stretching and rehabilitation techniques; guide progression.
• Enforce room rules and model professionalism on and off the field.
• Review setup sheets for practice and games; communicate changes with AT staff.
• Finalize all 'Closing Athletic Room' tasks before leaving.
