Job summary

McMurry University is seeking a Sports Information Assistant to support the Athletics SID team in Abilene, Texas. The part-time role covers photography, videography, live video streaming for home events, and content creation for the department’s social media and website.

You will assist with media coverage, credentialing, post-event reporting, and maintaining statistics; experience with NCAA live stats and Presto is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in sports information or media relations preferred.
• Proficiency with digital media tools and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate department photography and videography, including headshots, team photos, and promo videos.
• Coordinate and produce live video streaming for home events and website content.
• Create content for McMurry Athletics social media (Instagram, Facebook, X) to enhance branding.
• Assist with daily operations of the Sports Information office under the director.
• Serve as secondary communications contact for other sports as needed.
• Coordinate media credential requests and arrange interviews with coaches and staff.
• Maintain statistics and post-event reporting; knowledge of NCAA live stats and Presto.
• Write features and press releases and participate in PA, radio, or video work.
