Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods in Texas is hiring a Specialist - Sport & Outdoor to drive sales and deliver an athlete-first experience. You will help athletes find the right gear, provide knowledgeable product information, and maintain energetic store presentation that motivates customers.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and 1–3 years in retail or customer-facing roles. You should be coachable, collaborative, and customer-focused, ready to support teammates and uphold company standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail or customer-facing roles.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers an outstanding athlete experience by proactively engaging athletes to understand their shopping needs and create a world-class athlete experience and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Assists with onboarding and training of new and existing team members (as subject matter expert of their area of the store), focusing on best practices, expectational selling skills, and key operational processes.
• Demonstrates efficiency and effectiveness in process execution while maintaining an athlete-first mindset; ensures products are ready for athletes to purchase and athletes are engaged when, where, and how they want.
• Upholds company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor set plans, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, etc.
• Promotes and drives customer participation in company programs (i.e., customer loyalty program participation, warranty sales, private label credit card enrollment, etc.).
• Creates a store environment where everyone, both teammates and athletes, are always welcome and treated with respect. Adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures, as well as to laws/guidelines of external governing entities.
