Job summary

University of Utah is seeking a Contracts Officer to draft and negotiate agreements for extramural partnerships supporting sponsored project activity across the university.

This role collaborates with faculty, external sponsors, and university offices to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and financial requirements throughout the contract lifecycle.

Hybrid work schedule (minimum in-office presence) with a total compensation package including health care, retirement plans, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalency required; one year education substituted for two years related work experience.
• Two years experience with federal or private funding agencies on grants, contracts or similar.
• Ability to work independently under pressure with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate sponsored contract agreements with diverse sponsors.
• Assist faculty in preparation of contract proposals.
• Review sponsoring agency policies and regulations.
• Manage contract workflow through signing and renewal.
• Provide training and updates on policies to staff and faculty.
