Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Splunk SIEM Security Engineer to join the SIEM Production Support team in Chandler, AZ or Charlotte, NC on a 12-18 month contract. You will manage and optimize Splunk for advanced threat detection, automation, and incident response, and collaborate with IT teams to build detection rules, dashboards and playbooks.

This role requires senior production support experience in SIEM/SOAR, strong Splunk skills, IAM proficiency, and ITIL knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SIEM/SOAR administration and security operations.
• Passionate about cybersecurity and automation, a SIEM/SOAR expert to help strengthen cyber resilience.
• Use Splunk skills to fight threats and keep financial services secure.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Splunk (searches, dashboards, alerts, playbooks).
• Excellent knowledge of IAM domain including SRE and DevOps space.
• Senior level production support experience and troubleshooting skills in SIEM/SOAR space, Splunk and IAM technologies.
• Well versed with ITIL framework.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT teams to build detection rules, automation playbooks, and dashboards.
• Manage, configure, and optimize SIEM/SOAR platforms (primarily Splunk).
• Develop detection rules, dashboards, and automation playbooks.
• Monitor and analyze security events to identify threats and reduce response times.
• Deliver above and beyond services to internal customers to meet or exceed SLAs.
• Monitor, incident response, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes per best practices.

Job Title: Splunk SIEM Security Engineer

Duration: 12-18 Months

Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid onsite 3 days per week)

Other approved location: Charlotte, NC

Pay Scale: $65-70/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)

Job Description:

The Security Engineer will join our client's SIEM Production Support team in Chandler, AZ or Charlotte, NC as an individual contributor and will be responsible for managing and optimizing Splunk for advanced threat detection, automation, and incident response. You will also collaborate with other IT teams to build detection rules, automate playbooks, and implement dashboards that strengthen security posture.

Responsibilities:

• You will collaborate with other IT teams to build detection rules, automation playbooks, and dashboards that strengthen our security posture in a fast-paced FinTech environment.
• Manage, configure, and optimize SIEM/SOAR platforms (primarily Splunk).
• Develop detection rules, dashboards, and automation playbooks.
• Monitor and analyze security events to identify threats and reduce response times.
• This position is expected to deliver above and beyond services to our internal customers to facilitate business continuity with a meet or exceed SLAs.
• This includes monitoring, incident response, problem engagement during triage, service restoral, identification of root cause, and facilitation and co-ordination for a permanent fix - in accordance with agreed best practices.

Desired Experience:
