Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Hartford, CT is seeking a Cybersecurity Ops Technologist I - Splunk SIEM Engineer to monitor SIEM health, data pipelines, and detection coverage. You will collaborate with SOC analysts to translate operational needs into scalable, high-fidelity detections across the security stack.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in cybersecurity, strong SIEM experience, scripting skills, and proficiency with Linux/Windows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in Cybersecurity with SOC and threat detection experience.
• Experience managing SIEM platforms and data pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Proficient with Linux/Windows CLI and scripting.
• Familiar with SOC workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
• Networking concepts and cloud security knowledge.
• Ability to communicate threat insights clearly.
• Experience administrating Splunk and SIEM.
• Experience with Python and AWS Cloud Services.

Responsibilities

• Tackle complex engineering activities that support detection and response capabilities of the SOC and Threat Detection teams.
• Analyze identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses, exploitation methods, and effects.
• Develop alerts and controls from a wide variety of data sources and create actionable detections.
