Job summary

Splunk Software Engineer-TS/SCI with Poly at CACI is a Linux-focused engineering generalist serving on a cross-functional systems team. You will be Splunk SME for dashboards, data routing, and analytics, and support CDS or similar high-assurance security tech in a tight security environment.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly, strong Linux administration, and hands-on experience with Salt, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux system administration experience including OS installation, configuration, user and permission management, networking, and CLI operations.
• Experience managing hardware using iDRAC or similar tools including BIOS/firmware updates, RAID configuration, and basic hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across OS, hardware, networks, applications, and data flows.
• Proficiency with core UNIX command-line utilities for file manipulation, packaging, and transfer (tar, split, checksum tools).
• Experience using Salt for configuration management or build automation, or adjacent experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Experience building or maintaining Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) or similar high-assurance boundary security technologies.
• Experience supporting or developing Splunk applications, dashboards, data routing, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the team’s Linux expert, performing OS install, configuration, user management, networking, and maintenance.
• Manage hardware using iDRAC, including BIOS updates, RAID configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across operating systems, hardware, networks, data flows, and applications.
• Build and manipulate files using UNIX utilities, create tar archives, and prepare data for constrained transfers.
• Support automation workflows using Salt, and adapt from tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Build, deploy, or maintain CDS or similar high-assurance boundary security technologies.
• Act as Splunk SME for applications, dashboards, data routing, and analytics.
