Job summary

Maximus is seeking a highly technical Splunk Engineer to own Splunk administration and engineering efforts, onboard data sources, and support observability, monitoring, and data engineering initiatives.

The role is approximately 50% engineering/development and 50% platform administration/operations, with a strong focus on automation and IaC practices. Collaboration with cloud and data teams is essential.

Maximus is seeking a highly technical Splunk Engineer to support a growing portfolio of observability, monitoring, and data engineering initiatives. This individual will serve as a key owner of the Splunk platform while also contributing to data integrations, automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and cloud-based infrastructure modernization. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently own Splunk administration and engineering efforts, onboard data sources, troubleshoot complex issues, build dashboards, automate deployments, and help drive the organization's transition toward Infrastructure as Code and automated platform management. This role is approximately 50% engineering/development and 50% platform administration/operations.

Compensation is $71/hr.

Skills and Requirements

Splunk Expertise

• 5+ years of hands-on Splunk experience
• Strong experience administering enterprise Splunk environments
• Splunk deployment, configuration, and maintenance experience
• Experience onboarding and integrating new data sources into Splunk
• Strong troubleshooting experience within Splunk environments
• Experience creating dashboards, alerts, and reports
• Experience supporting and optimizing Splunk infrastructure

Data Engineering & Integration

• Experience moving and transforming data across multiple platforms and systems

Automation & Development

• Python scripting experience
• Experience building and supporting API integrations

DevOps / Infrastructure

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Cribl administration and data pipeline management
• Experience leveraging Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Experience with GitHub for source control and deployment automation
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
