Job summary

Wire 3 LLC is seeking a Splice Manager based in Daytona Beach, FL to lead end-to-end fiber optic splicing projects across FL, GA, SC, and AL.

You will manage the master splicing schedule, coordinate post-splice testing with field technicians, and ensure quality standards are met while reporting progress to PMO and OSP leadership. This is a full-time role requiring 8+ years in splicing and supervisory experience, with travel across assigned markets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in fiber optic splicing.
• Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Technical certification or vocational training in fiber optics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee the master splicing schedule across active production areas, ensuring crews are sequenced efficiently and aligned with construction and turn-up timelines.
• Schedule field technicians for post-splice testing, ensuring testing is completed on schedule.
• Quality-check completed splicing work in field and remotely for compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with PMO and Engineering to review splice charts and communicate status.
• Identify root causes of failed splices and coordinate corrective action.
• Track splicing production metrics and report to leadership.
• Ensure documentation of splice closures and test results in Wire 3 Portal.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed; escalate as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Splice Manager is responsible for the oversight and execution of new production splicing activities across Wire 3’s assigned markets in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. Based out of Daytona Beach, FL, this role manages the splicing schedule end-to-end, coordinates post-splice testing with field technicians through the Wire 3 Portal, and ensures the quality of completed splicing work meets Wire 3 standards. The Splice Manager reports to the VP of OSP and serves as a key coordination point between the PMO and OSP Managers to keep splicing production aligned with overall project timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and oversee the master splicing schedule across active production areas, ensuring internal and contractor crews are sequenced efficiently and aligned with overall construction and turn‑up timelines
• Schedule field technicians for the post‑splice testing process using the Wire 3 Portal, confirming testing is completed accurately and on schedule
• Quality‑check completed splicing work in the field and remotely, verifying compliance with Wire 3 splicing standards, testing thresholds, and documentation requirements
• Coordinate with PMO and Engineering to review splice charts and lite paths, communicate splicing status, flag schedule risks, and resolve production bottlenecks
• Identify root causes of failed or substandard splices and coordinate corrective action or re‑work with the responsible crew or contractor
• Track and report splicing production metrics including completion rates, test pass/fail rates, and schedule variance; report status to OSP leadership
• Ensure proper documentation of splice closures, test results, and as‑built records within the Wire 3 Portal
• Confirm safety and quality standards are followed by all splicing crews; escalation is carried out as needed
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• Strong working knowledge of fiber optic splicing methods, OTDR and light‑level testing, and post‑splice test procedures
• Experience scheduling and managing distributed field technician crews across multiple markets
• Comfort working within project management and production tracking platforms such as the Wire 3 Portal or similar systems
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across PMO, OSP Managers, and field crews
• Ability to travel across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama markets as needed
• Valid driver’s license in good standing required; all tools required to perform the job are provided by the company

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ years of experience in fiber optic splicing required
• Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in fiber optics a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This is a market‑based role requiring regular travel across Wire 3’s active construction markets in FL, GA, SC, and AL
• Work is performed in both field environments and remotely; must be able to work in outdoor conditions as required
• Based out of Daytona Beach, FL
