Job summary

The Harbor Healthcare System is seeking a part-time Spiritual Counselor in the Abilene area to support patients and families with culturally sensitive spiritual care as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include aligning counseling with patient beliefs, collaborating with clinicians, and guiding families through end-of-life conversations, with an emphasis on compassionate, ethical care. Prior hospice/home health exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed or ordained by a major religious body is required.
• 1+ years' experience as a Spiritual Counselor is preferred.
• Experience with Hospice or Home Health is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Clean background, drug screen, and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to provide spiritual care aligned with patient and family beliefs.
• Deliver services in a manner consistent with the organization’s or community clergy.
• Support patients and families through spiritual and end-of-life conversations as appropriate.
