Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Counselor to support beneficiaries facing addiction, homelessness, and life challenges through spiritual guidance and rehabilitation planning.

You will conduct interviews, provide individual and group counseling, design rehabilitation plans, and collaborate with community agencies to coordinate services.

Qualifications

• Deep desire to help people experience Christ.
• Personal testimony of God's faithfulness.
• Some counseling experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth interviews with new beneficiaries.
• Provide individual and group spiritual counseling.
• Design and manage individual rehabilitation plans.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Lead journaling and group sessions.
• Assess spiritual needs of beneficiaries.
• Maintain detailed case notes in Service Point database.
• Track rehabilitation progress and update plans.
• Complete Self-Sufficiency Matrix assessments.
• Coordinate with community agencies for additional services.
• Develop and implement special projects as assigned.
• Monitor work therapy progress.
• Maintain secure online beneficiary files.
• Complete weekly case notes and progress reports.
• Update electronic records within deadlines.
• Provide statistical information for monthly reports.
• Document service delivery and program outcomes.

Location: St. Louis, MO
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Type:Full-time
Schedule:40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. You'll provide spiritual guidance and counseling to individuals facing various challenges including addiction, homelessness, and other life difficulties. This role is crucial in supporting our beneficiaries' recovery journey through spiritual guidance and rehabilitation planning .

What You’ll Do

Counseling & Assessment
