Job summary

Acadia Healthcare seeks a Chaplain to support the spiritual well-being of residents, families, and staff on our treatment team. You will provide guidance, offer prayers or reflection, and help integrate spiritual care into the treatment plan.

The role emphasizes respectful, empathetic communication, collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues, and documentation of spiritual care as part of continuity of care. A background in pastoral care and clinical pastoral education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Completion of curriculum of theological classes and displays skills and competencies in pastoral care required.
• Previous pastoral experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster an atmosphere of respect and dignity for spiritual needs.
• Offer religious and spiritual guidance to patients.
• Offer prayer or reflection.
• May participate in committees and patient conferences to enhance the continuity of care.
• Develop positive working relationships with members of the treatment team.
• Provide consultation and appropriate resources to the interdisciplinary and group therapists regarding the spiritual needs of the patient as they relate to treatment.
• Keep documentation as required.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards patients; address concerns and prioritize patient safety.
