Valmont Industries in Claxton, GA is seeking an equipment operator responsible for running multiple mobile and stationary production tools. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, proper use of PPE, and accurate measurement.

Training and overtime flexibility are expected. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of experience with manufacturing equipment, and the ability to read and follow instructions in English.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is desirable but not required.
1–3 years of manufacturing equipment experience or related work.
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (frequent up to 30 pounds).
Able to operate equipment and machinery with certification.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment (Pour Cart, Mi-Jack, Waterjet, etc.) and perform routine maintenance.
Conduct safety audits and follow Valmont safety policies.
Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and assist with repairs as needed.
Train new employees and participate in Lean, Gemba and 5S activities.
Accurately read tape measures; follow work instructions; work overtime as required.

A Brief Summary of This Position

This is an individual contributor position where the incumbent will be responsible for the operation of equipment ie... Pour cart, Mi-jack, Water jet, Shuttlelift, Stress jack, Drill press, and any other mobile equipment with certification.

Essential Functions

Must be proficient in operating one or more types of equipment (Pour Cart, Mi-Jack, Waterjet, Lubrication, Shuttle Lift Equipment Operator, Final Stress Jack Operator, Drill Press Operator; Mobile Equipment Operator, Filler Operator) Knowledge of production equipment\hand held tools used in department in a professional manner Perform safety audits Must be abale to troubleshoot and perform basic general repairs Demonstrate the use of using basic hand tools Demonstrate a wiliness to train new employees Participate in Lean manufacturing, Gemba and 5S Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs Demonstrates the ability of attention to detail of product and processes Maintains an attitude that unlawful or unethical actions are not accepted Performs other duties directed by leaders and management. Equipment specified certification needed High school diploma or GED is highly desirable but not required One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English Communicate problems or needs to departmental supervision Communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner Pay attention to detail and follow work instructions High awareness for safety with the ability to wear all required PPE and work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, as well as with exposure to outdoor. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 30 pounds Ability to be company trained and authorized to operate equipment and machinery Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs Self-Motivated ability to be internally inspired to perform task to the best of one’s ability using his or hers own drive or initiative Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
