Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a Surgical Tech for the Operating Room. The role is full-time days, supporting surgeons by anticipating instrument needs and ensuring readiness for each step of the procedure.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety through proper positioning and draping, as well as ensuring absolute accuracy in instrument and sponge counts to protect patient safety from incision to closure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NBSTSA or NCCT obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Act as the 'right hand' to surgeons by anticipating every move and ensuring instrument readiness.
• Ensure patient safety through positioning, draping, and sterile technique during procedures.
• Maintain 100% accuracy in instrument and sponge counts to safeguard the sterile field from incision to closure.
