Job summary

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support the Neurosurgery at UPMC Presbyterian. The role focuses on outpatient spinal care with autonomy in evaluating and managing complex spine pathology in a fast-paced academic setting.

The successful candidate will work with a collaborative team of APPs and surgeons, providing continuity of care from initial evaluations to follow-ups and pre-surgical planning

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive outpatient evaluations and develop treatment plans for complex spinal disorders and trauma.
• Independently manage a robust schedule of follow-up visits, post-operative assessments, and new consults.
• Triage clinical concerns and communicate management plans with urgency to the surgical team.
• Coordinate outpatient care, imaging follow-up, and pre-surgical planning.
• Collaborate with surgeon and multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and streamline workflow.
• Engage in ongoing spine care education and neurosurgical best practices.
