Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Augusta, GA seeks a physician to provide spinal cord injury care within SCI Outpatient and Inpatient wards and to serve as a consultant to facility-wide services.

The position supports Monday–Friday work with potential part-time arrangements based on agency needs. Eligible candidates must hold an MD degree, be licensed in the United States, and meet VA qualification standards.

Qualifications

• Must meet VA basic requirements and hold an MD degree from an approved medical school.
• Currently licensed to practice medicine in the United States or District of Columbia.
• Board certification or eligibility in a specialty (preferred) and residency completed per VA standards.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide SCI care in outpatient and inpatient settings and act as a consultant to facility-wide services.
• Admit, evaluate, diagnose and treat patients within the SCI service as per privileges.
• Supervise midlevel providers and participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
• Coordinate with SCI leadership to meet performance measures and health system indicators.
• Support admissions, census management and interfacility consults; participate in meetings as needed.
