LiDestri Foods in Rochester, NY, is seeking Production - Indirect Full Time Operatives. The role focuses on operating club pack machinery and spice room processes, ensuring correct line setup and efficient packaging for consumer goods.

Responsibilities include shipping/receiving, labeling, FIFO compliance, and adherence to safety and GMP standards. A high school diploma and PPE readiness are required, with forklift experience a plus.

Qualificações

• Ability to wear PPE (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net, Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, leather shoes).
• Basic computer and math skills; ability to reason.
• Ability to use various hand tools (knife, box cutter, band cutters, can opener, scales).
• Previous forklift experience for applicable areas.
• Lock out/tag out certified.
• Continuous improvement and teamwork mindset.

• Inspect raw materials prior to use; observe for defects or machine issues.
• Maintain GMP standards around machinery and perform SOPs.
• Work safely according to company rules; maintain good attendance and report issues.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• The primary purpose of this role is to proficiently operate the machinery and operations within the club pack area or spice rooms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform all shipping & receiving functions for all work areas, setting up lines correctly;


• Ensure labels stickers & shrink wrap is applied properly;


• Ensure packaging meets customer specifications, all work performed is FIFP and no lots are mixed;


• Verify product type is available, delivered, and ready for work;


• Follow all requirements needed for rework, club pack and MODs;

  • Prepare spice mixes in accordance with the batch cards and standard, sanitary procedures;
  
  
  • Cannot be allergic to fine ingredients and dust particles;
  
  
  • Mixing cheese and various spices to accurate proportions;
  
  
  
  


• Inspect raw materials prior to use


• Observe operations to detect product (raw or finished) defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary;


• Maintain GMP (good housekeeping) standards at and around machinery;


• Perform SOP’s for machinery in assigned area;


• Work in a safe manner, consistent with company safety rules and regulations;


• Maintain good attendance record per company policy;


• Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED;


• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather, skid resistant work shoes/boots;


• Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions and reasoning;


• Ability to use various hand tools (knife, water house, band cutters, can opener and scales);


• Previous experience operating a forklift (for applicable work areas);


• Lock out/tag out certified;


• Possess a continuous improvement and team orientated mind set.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

• Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors


• Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions


• Lifting/carrying <50 pounds


• Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
