Job summary

Pediatrics Plus is seeking Speech-Language Pathologists to join a collaborative pediatric healthcare team. The role involves evaluating and treating clients ages 0–21 under physician prescriptions, working with families, and providing services across multiple settings including home, daycare, schools, and clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy evaluation and treatment to clients aged 0–21.
• Collaborate with administration and other disciplines for quality services.
• Evaluate clients using appropriate testing protocols and funding guidelines.
• Create goals/objectives and schedule clients with parents/guardians.
• Provide therapy in diverse settings (home, daycare, schools, clinic, community).
• Document therapy services with weekly progress notes and required paperwork.

Education

What you will do:

Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide speech therapy evaluation and treatment services to clients ages 0-21 years as prescribed by a physician. This role will also be responsible for the following:

• Collaborate with administration and other disciplines involved in the child’s care to promote consistent and quality services for clients and families.
• Evaluate clients using appropriate testing protocols, tools, as well as other means, to follow funding guidelines for each particular client.
• Create appropriate goals/objectives to be turned in with each evaluation.
• Schedule clients on caseload by contacting the parent/guardian.
• Provide therapy services to clients based on the recommended number of units from evaluations and prescriptions, and/or funding source approvals.
• Provide therapy services in a variety of settings including home, daycare, schools, outpatient clinic, community, as well as other settings.
• Provide documentation of all therapy services by locking and electronically signing weekly progress notes.
• Complete additional paperwork requirements in an accurate and timely manner as notified by leadership. These requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Annual re-evaluations
  • Six-month progress notes
  • Discharge summaries
  • Early Intervention paperwork (if needed).
• Is available to provide speech therapy services, attend meetings and conferences, and other related duties during the days and hours stipulated in the Team Member Handbook and Therapist Supplement.
• Be available to clients and families to ensure continuity of care and proper management of treatment.
• Participate in all required meetings for professional development and growth.
• Provide feedback to leadership regarding ways to enhance continued improvement of the company.
• Participate in one-on-one meetings with leader.
• Respond positively to feedback concerning job performance.
• Participate in Multidisciplinary conferences, as needed.
• Demonstrate continued growth in therapeutic skills through learning, knowledge, and application.

What you have:

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
• Must be able to work with clients birth to age 21 and their families.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Computer skills which includes a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
• Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or team members of the company.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Education/ Certification:

• Current, unrestricted speech therapist license as approved by the team member's state licensing board.
• Current ASHA certification

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to accurately communicate information and ideas so others will understand through sight and hearing. The team member is regularly required to move including walking, running, jumping, and sitting. The team member is regularly required to us e hands and fingers to handle, lift, reach, and feel. The team member is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch , or crawl. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception , and ability to adjust focus . I f the team member is working at a Farm location, they must be comfortable around standard farm animals, including minimal allergies to touching , smelling , feeding , and engaging with animals.
