Job summary

Jonesboro Center for Nursing and Healing, part of Empire Care Centers, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate residents, develop care plans, and administer therapies as prescribed by physicians. The role includes supervising support staff and ensuring accurate charges submission.

You will collaborate with the care team to maximize residents’ functional communication and treatment outcomes while contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the center.

Qualifications

• Evaluates residents to determine speech, language, and cognitive needs.
• Develops and updates care plans to address communication disorders.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
• Oversees support staff and ensures accurate documentation and coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations and create care plans.
• Administer speech therapy interventions as prescribed.
• Supervise OT/PT Aide and other support staff.
• Engage in department CQI activities and performance improvement.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in patient care, responsible for evaluations, care planning, and administering therapeutic interventions as prescribed by a licensed physician. The SLP administers treatments and physical agents to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Collaborating with referring physicians, the SLP assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning while promoting adaptation to their capabilities. Additionally, the SLP ensures accurate and timely submission of patient charges and supervises support staff (OT/PT Aide, etc.). Participation in departmental operations, performance improvement, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities is integral to the role.
